Emily Featherstone Architect (EFA) is a full service architecture and interior design firm. At EFA we love to take on any type of project. With 15 years of experience we have worked on commercial, residential and institutional projects. Step 1: Pre-Design
The first step of the design process is unique for every client. We connect to discuss the wants and needs for your project. At this time, we discuss important elements like budget, timelines and any other necessary information. We start the design process by asking you to share inspiration images to allow us to get inside your head. This helps us to clearly understand your architectural and interior design style.
Step 2: Schematic Design
After meeting and discussing your wants and needs, we move on to drafting up the design. This step includes preparing preliminary floor plans and a 3D model depicting the exterior of your project. We believe 3D modelling is crucial in the design process to ensure you can clearly visualize your project.
Step 3: Refining the Design
Once you’ve had a chance to look over their design, we connect to review any minor changes you would like. We refine things to ensure every aspect of the project is just right.
Step 4: Design Development
During this step we develop the project further. This includes preparing photorealistic renderings of both the interior and exterior of the project. We also create a photorealistic 3D animation to let you virtually walk through the space. Here we focus on the details to ensure you fully understand all elements of the design, bringing the line drawings to life.
Step 5: Interior Design
This next step lets us help you to fully realize your project. It translates the photorealistic renderings into tangible elements you can purchase for your space. We can even update the 3D model with alternate selections so you can try before you buy. We are here to help source and spec materials, finishes, products, etc. to ensure cohesion between all your spaces.
Step 6: Construction Drawings
The final step of the design process is to get the plans ready for construction and permit submission. During this phase we coordinate with consultants, review building codes and requirements from Authorities having Jurisdiction. We ensure your project is well coordinated to minimize interferences during construction.
